EFCC Storms Enugu Radio Station, Halts Live Broadcast

In a shocking move, Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed Urban 94.5FM, a popular radio station in Enugu State, yesterday evening, halting a live broadcast and detaining presenters. The raid, which occurred around 6 pm on Monday, also resulted in the seizure of equipment worth millions.

According to reports, broadcaster Favour Ekoh was forcefully removed from a live program, causing significant disruption and raising concerns about press freedom. The radio station’s management expressed shock, stating that the EFCC had not provided any official explanation for the raid, staff detention, or equipment seizure.

Despite efforts to reach out, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, has not commented on the incident. Calls and text messages seeking clarification have gone unanswered.
