The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has called for a corruption-free Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of embracing values such as integrity, truth, and liberty in the fight against corruption.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Olukoyede urged Nigerians to align with the ideals of light, joy, hope, and truth that Christmas represents, which he believes are crucial to achieving a zero-tolerance approach to corruption.

Olukoyede highlighted the significant progress made by the EFCC over the past 18 months, attributing this success to the unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also extended appreciation to the judiciary for strengthening the EFCC’s resolve, acknowledging their essential role in the anti-corruption fight.

Olukoyede wished all Nigerians a Merry Christmas, stressing that the collective efforts of all stakeholders are pivotal in realizing a prosperous and corruption-free nation.

He said, “I deeply believe in the prospects of our nation for growth and development. We can make Nigeria greater if we embrace the values of light, joy, hope, truth, and liberty that Christ brought to the world, which are significant pathways to integrity and zero tolerance for corruption.

“The Christmas season is an opportunity to activate these possibilities.

“Nigerians can see clearly that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to tackling corrupt practices in our midst. The strides of the EFCC could not have been possible without his active support and courage.

“We appreciate the professionalism, commitment, integrity, and courage of our Justices and Judges, who are greatly strengthening the EFCC’s anti-corruption efforts. With their collaboration, greater strides will be made in the coming year.”
