Real Madrid Files Complaint Against LaLiga President Javier Tebas

Real Madrid have officially filed a complaint with Spain’s Higher Sports Council (CSD) against LaLiga president Javier Tebas, citing serious breaches of confidentiality and professional conduct. The matter, now referred to the Administrative Sports Tribunal (TAD), has been formally accepted and is under investigation.

At the heart of the complaint is Tebas’s alleged failure to maintain the confidentiality of an internal vote conducted in April 2023. The vote, structured as an anonymous survey, was intended to gather clubs’ opinions on officiating standards. Tebas violated the secrecy of the vote by revealing its contents, including the club’s position, via a post on the social network X.

The Madrid board believes this not only breaches the terms of the anonymous survey but also infringes on the fundamental rights of participating clubs, potentially undermining the integrity of league governance.

Real Madrid regards Tebas’s actions as a “very serious offense.” Their formal appeal to the CSD prompted a response that has now seen the TAD open an official case.
