Phil Foden’s Manchester City teammates are reportedly worried about him after the England star’s ‘mental fatigue’ following last summer’s Euros flop.

Foden’s career has taken somewhat of a dive over the last year and a half, as the once highly rated Manchester City midfielder has struggled for form with both club and country.

Pep Guardiola has continued to back Foden at the Etihad, however, the same has not been the case with the Three Lions, as he struggled at Euro 2024 and is now on the bench under Thomas Tuchel. His City teammates are now said to be worried about Foden’s ‘mental fatigue’ and here is why.

As per The Daily Mail, City’s players are known to have privately worried about Foden. The midfielder moved the family out to near Northwich, well away from Manchester and with a lake to fish nearby and appeared to have lost weight to the naked eye.

However, Guardiola is said not to be too concerned about the dip in form, as he knows it is a common occurrence through the career of a player.

Foden had the second-most minutes played for Manchester City last season, with his 4,276 only being surpassed by Rodri. In addition, Foden also played 720 minutes at the Euros, which took him close to 5000 minutes of action.

The Manchester City star is keen on improving his performances and getting back into Tuchel’s books as the countdown to the 2026 World Cup has already begun.
