7,790 Nigerian refugees in Chad are set to return to the homeland following the signing of an agreement in Baga Sola, Chad Republic.

The agreement is between Nigeria, Chad, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which is to ensure the safe and voluntary return of the refugees.

The refugees, most of them indigenes of Borno, were displaced for nearly ten years by the insurgency which affected communities around Lake Chad Basin and have taken refuge in the Daru-Salam refugee camp in Chad
